Caramelized figs and maple mascarpone (adapted from Donna Hay, Fast, Fresh, Simple)
- 8 figs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
Heat the non stick frying pan over high heat. Take 8 figs and cut them in half. Then take 1/2 cup of brown sugar and press the cut side of figs into the sugar.
place the figs sugar side down into the hot pan and cook around 10-15 seconds until the sugar is melted or caramelized.
Arrange the figs on serving plates. Place a large spoonful of mascarpone onto each serving plate, pour maple syrup onto the plate and they are ready to serve.
