Linguine with tomatoes, lemon, chile and crab

I went to the fresh market today and bought crabs from my regular fishmonger. His crabs are incredibly fresh and sweet. So I decided to steam them and cook pasta with crabmeat. It was so delicious. Please try this recipe if you can find good crabs from a trusted fishmonger.

Linguine with tomatoes, lemon, chile and crab (modified from Sophie Dahl, Miss Dahl's voluptuous delights)
Serve 2

  • 1/2 cup of cherry tomatoes
  • sea salt
  • 2 clove of garlics, peeled
  • 2 red chiles
  • 3 TBSP of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 TBSP of lemon juice and zest of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 cup of cooked fresh crabmeat
  • 200 g linguine pasta
  • a handful of roughly chopped fresh italian parsley

Cut the tomatoes into halves and sprinkle them with sea salt. In a pestle and mortar, crush the garlic and chiles into a red pulp. Mix in the olive oil, salt, lemon juice and zest. Add the crab to the mixture

Cook the pasta until it's al dente. Drain, then pour the crab mixture and tomatoes over and sprinkle with parsley. Serve.
